Terme Dobrna
The village of Dobrna, where thermal water with
healing effects was discovered as early as in the 12th century,
lies in a beautiful countryside filled with meadows and woods,
at the confluence of two rivers. The name of the village originates
from the word “dob”, a kind of an oak that grew on the surrounding
hills. The most famous sight of the village is the 200-year old
chestnut tree avenue. In the 19th century, when the spa started
to develop, famous guests, among them also Louis Bonaparte, promenaded
along the avenue.
