                PETRČANE (ZADAR)

The small and quiet fishing village of Petrčane
is situated on the coast facing the island of Ugljan. It lies
12 km southwest of the town of Zadar, the cultural and historic
center of the southern part of Dalmatia. Some of the houses in
the village are built in the Mediterranean style and surrounded
by stone pine woods and beaches – a pebble, a rocky and a smaller
                sandy beach.
Zadar is a town of great historic importance for Croatia. With
its rich 3,000-year old history, it has always represented a cultural,
economic and administrative center of the Dalmatia’s north coast.
Connecting the southern and the northern part of Croatia, it is
also an important traffic center. Visitors find Zadar very attractive
because of its natural heritage and friendly inhabitants. Many
tourists and artists compare Zadar with the town of Venice as
                well as Dubrovnik.
